Spiderman had young boys wanting to be part spider, but grown men wanted to become half fish after seeing the lovely Sally Hawkins do the wet and floppy with the gilled creature in The Shape of Water (2017). Women are always saying they find a humorous man attractive. Well, the same is true for us men. Take Sally, the pretty brunette who grew up in southeast London. On top of her career on stage and screen, she has written comedy for the Radio 4 sketch show Concrete Cow. But even better, Sally has shown her udders, and they’re definitely not made out of concrete. After making her film debut as an uncredited extra in Star Wars Episode I- The Phantom Menace (1999) she first made audiences say, “Holy Cow,” in the lesbian drama Tipping the Velvet (2002), where she and Rachael Stirling make boob-iful music together before a crowd of ladies walk in on them. Things got even hotter in All or Nothing (2002), by famous improvisational director Mike Leigh. Sally’s hawks make doves in a car-bound tryst. Ride, Sally ride! But Sally’s career really shifted into high gear with her work alongside future Bond Daniel Craig as Slasher in Layer Cake (2004). After getting massaged in her undies as Poppy in Happy-Go-Lucky (2008), she again showed us her body in full bloom in Desert Flowers (2009). Sally goes for a ride on top of a lucky fella, wearing only a fedora on her head as she thrusts her hips on top of him. We did some batey, M’lady! But Sally’s best known work came in 2017, when she starred in the Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water. You don’t need hawk eyes to see Sally going fully nude multiple times in the movie, ranging from a masturbation scene in the bathtub that shows all three B’s, to having sex with the fish man in the same bathtub. Sadie Hawkins lets girls choose who to dance with, and Sally opted to do the no pants dance with a fish. And even weirder, she earned an Anatomy Award nomination in the process. Sally has stuck with creature features, appearing in both Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), although she hasn’t done the monster smash since the Guillermo del Toro film. We wish she would though. We love the shape of Sally!
